#MEDWeek40: Black Consultants Are Stronger Together

This week, the Minority Business Development Agency joins the National Minority Supplier Development Council to host their annual Minority Enterprise Development Week in Baltimore, Maryland. This year’s theme is closing the equity gap–a central part of my life’s work.

One thing I know for sure is that entrepreneurs of color need each other to grow and survive. I certainly would not be where I am today without my colleagues, friends, and collaborators who have cheered me on, connected me to new projects, and kept me accountable for honing my skills and continuing to learn throughout my career.

In celebration of #MEDWeek40, I want to take a moment to shout out a few of my fellow entrepreneurs of color whom I am honored to know and work with to create the change we want to see in the world: folks like Loryn Wilson Carter, Chief Storyteller at her communications firm, Jefferson Park Consulting; David Hill, Founder of DHill Professional Services a fierce advocate with a wealth of knowledge in non-profit law and DEI; DEI catalyst and performance coach Eric Polite, and Bobby Boone, the visionary founder and chief strategist of &Access. All four of these talented entrepreneurs are generous with their time, talent, and expertise to me and others as we move through our Black entrepreneurship journey.

These are just a few of the fellow consultants in my network whose skills, talent, passion, and expertise deserve to be celebrated and supported.

Who are some entrepreneurs of color do you admire from your community? Tag them below and give them their flowers.
