A Little More About the Founder.

Thank you for stopping by. While you’re here, I’d love to tell you a little about RCM Strategic Consulting and share a bit about why I do this work. 

First thing first: I’m Rebecca Murphy (she/her), and I’m the CEO of RCM Strategic Consulting. I am a fourth-generation Baltimorean raised by two entrepreneurs. I learned by my mother’s example, a New Yorker who taught me the importance of professional excellence and a strong work ethic, but always approaching work with a commitment and a desire to make the world a better place. 

With that in mind, I have spent most of my career working directly with non-profit organizations, boards, and public sector organizations with missions focused on economic and community development, real estate, philanthropy, marriage equality, and parks and recreation. As the CEO, I lead our clients through the work of elevating people and communities to achieve higher levels of equity and prosperity. We do this by using our expertise in strategic planning and organizational leadership to create positive change in the distribution of power and opportunity.

My favorite part of doing this work is creating together long-term solutions to build organizational capacity through collaboration. More often than not, my clients are knowledgeable, intelligent, and capable of learning new concepts and making changes to their strategy, vision, or management practices to help their organization and its employees thrive. 

But more importantly, my personal values–and the values of my firm–are unapologetically Black and Feminist. I, my team, and my collaborators bring the intersectionality of race, class, sexuality, and gender to the forefront. In the spirit  of Audre Lorde, I have a deep commitment to providing strategies and training development with a mindset that there is no such thing as a “single-issue struggle” because we do not live “single-issue lives.” 

For that reason, I work with clients who not only are excited about learning and are committed to growth, but are ready to do the work of creating equitable structures and solutions, and not just talk about it with the right buzzwords. Equity and Inclusion aren’t just a game you play to keep your name out of the mud –it’s gotta be baked into your entire workplace culture, programming, and procedures.
