MEET THE FOUNDER
About Rebecca Murphy
Rebecca Murphy is the founder and chief strategist of RCM Strategic Consulting. Before launching her business, Rebecca held senior leadership roles in private- and public-sector organizations with missions focused on economic and community development, real estate, philanthropy, marriage equality, and parks and recreation.
She was a member of the affiliate faculty at Loyola University Maryland from 2017 to 2020. In 2022, she created the Upper Shore Community Development Partners to address systemic economic inequality throughout Maryland’s Upper Shore region.
Rebecca is a fourth-generation Baltimorean, mother of Hannah and Carter, and bonus mom to Jack and Brooke. She is the daughter of the iconic Bettyjean C. Murphy, Baltimore’s first Black woman developer and now lives in Chestertown, Maryland, with her husband, John, their dogs, Chauncey, Camden, and Sully, and their 20-foot Bayliner, Bettyjean.
