In 2018, our firm was retained to provide organizational development, strategic planning, and fund development strategic assistance to Pay Our Interns (POI), a national nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC, that advocates for paid internships on Capitol Hill and in businesses. RCM Strategic Consulting developed an organizational infrastructure including formal job descriptions, an operating budget, a workflow plan including a leadership structure playing to the co-founders strengths. In addition, our firm created a comprehensive, well-researched fundraising strategy, restructured and organized their Board of Directors, wrote grant proposals, oversaw program development, and provided coaching to both founders to build skills in fundraising, organizational management and administration, and board and organizational governance.
We are working with Catholic Charities of Maryland to reimagine vacant space in a neighborhood shopping center in the Cherry Hill area of South Baltimore as a hub for small businesses, entrepreneurship, retail, and community building. Our involvement includes commercial leasing, community engagement, real estate development, and relationship building. The firm is charged with developing and executing partnerships, identifying vendors for the pop-up retail space, and deepening stakeholder engagement. Our goal is to curate and sustain a high-quality experience, not just for community members, but for Baltimore City as a whole.
RCM Strategic Consulting facilitated a successful public-private partnership that brought a first-run movie theater back to Chestertown, MD. We served as the liaison between local and county governments, community organizations, and the business owner. Under the deal’s innovative terms, the county agreed to provide last-dollar funding in the form of an advance against future tax revenues, to ensure that the development deal was completed.
